As the Midtown Crossing completion approaches many more buildings are finding a remodel finalization nearing. Just as other properties in the Park West to East neighborhood this apartment building was overgrown and a little rough last summer. Now this spring it has started to transform with some new windows and the pruning of bushes.

A beat-up parking spot indicator and its surroundings captured my attention for quite some time. This marker is just outside of the world famous Rose & Crown Pub.
Turner
This seven unit on Turner Boulevard has interested many. While I was traipsing around the homeowner next door called me over and wanted to know what I was up to. He was pleased to find that we shared the same passion for the building. We had a lot of the same opinions except for his ambitious dream of turning the lower floor into a restaurant and the top floor into an evening nightclub with a patio on the roof; I just though it would make an awesome home. After we parted I continued taking pictures and someone pulled into the driveway. There was another lengthy conversation about dreams as they stared through the window.
Just two blocks south of Midtown Crossing, Dewey Park across the street, two blocks from the Interstate and a minute from Downtown this is the ideal property.

Wind Energy
The past couple of years Iowa’s landscape has been changing. It’s still flat with some gorgeous rolling hills but they’ve added hundreds of wind turbines. Iowa is currently the third largest wind energy producing state behind California and Texas.

The 4th of July ended with a friend and myself taking pictures of our neighborhood.
